1/31 Monday 

Cheerleading competition vs Multiple Schools | Valley beat Fort Lee | Old Tappan defeats Valley

The girls ended up splitting their two competitions as they beat Fort Lee and lost to Old Tappan. This was a mini Big North competition as the cheerleading squad is now 7-1 and only behind Valley’s rivals Old Tappan who are 8-0. 

2/1 Tuesday

Girls Basketball vs West Milford | Valley 45 – West Milford 32

Both Lindsay Jennings and Jules Vasallo had 11 points allowing their squad to defeat West Milford who was led by Avery Vacco with 16 points. After this Panther win, Valley improved to 9-8 and West Milford dropped below .500 with a 8-9 record. 

Boys Basketball vs West Milford | Valley 72 – West Milford 55

A 17 point win for the boys basketball team increased their record to 8-6 and dropped West Milford’s record to 2-15. 

Girls Swimming Big North Championship vs Passaic County Technical Institute at 4:30 |Valley 360- Passaic County Technical Institute 416

The girls were narrowly defeated by PCTI in the Big North Championship causing their record to decrease to 4-6 and PCTI’s record to increase to 9-2.

Boys Swimming Big North Championship vs Passaic County Technical Institute at 4:30 |Valley 261 – Passaic County Technical Institute 462

The boys lost to a great PCTI team decreasing their record to 3-7 and increasing PCTI’s record to 8-4.

2/2 Wednesday

Wrestling vs Demarest | Valley 38- Demarest 33

This was an intense senior night for the Panthers as they just barely edged out a win against a very good Demarest team without several star wrestlers from both sides. This match was decided by Senior Justin Amato and his clutch factor that all Valley supporters saw shine as he took down his opponent Kevin Basmadjian by pin in the first period. 

Boys Basketball vs Demarest | Valley 65 – Demarest 66

The boys basketball team started off a jam-packed Thursday for Valley athletics with a game against league rival Northern Valley-Demarest. Valley was leading for much of the game, yet they fell short in a very entertaining game. With this loss, Valley moved to 8-6.

2/3 Thursday

Girls Basketball vs Paramus Catholic | Valley – Paramus Catholic 

After the boys, the girls played an out of league game against Paramus Catholic. After dominating for most of the game, the girls were able to close out the game following multiple clutch free throws by Lindsay Jennings who finished with 18 points. Valley moved to 9-7 with that win.

Ice Hockey vs Tenafly  | Valley vs Tenafly canceled

2/5 Saturday

Boys Basketball vs Dwight-Englewood  | Valley 53  – Dwight-Englewood 58 

After Valley upset the 10-seeded St. Mary in the Bergen County Jamboree, they headed to Allendale to face 7-seeded Dwight-Englewood (14-2). Despite Dwight-Englewood being on a 8 game winning streak, Valley made the game very competitive, yet falling short by 5. Valley moves to 8-7 with this loss and looks to get back to winning ways against Old Tappan on Tuesday.

Girls Basketball vs Demarest | Valley 47 – Demarest 50

After defeating Paramus Catholic in their previous game, the girls basketball team looked to continue their success in the Bergen County Tournament Pool Play. Valley fell short to the Norsemen, making this their 3rd loss in the pool play and their 2nd loss this season to Demarest. Jules Vassallo finished with 22 points as Valley moved to 9-8 with this loss.

2/6 Sunday 

No Games
