Check out the Track Preview as we look to have a strong season after several of Valley’s distance runners have ran a sub 5 minute mile.

Coach: Anthony Judilla (10th year)

Key Returners:

Girls: Jessica Ricco (Sr.), Shannon Connolly (Sr.), Isabel Forcellati (Sr.), Juliana Mullaney (Sr.), Gabby Sandt (Sr.) and Gabriela Rubin (Sr.)

Boys: Connor Oates (Jr. distance), Mike Pizzella (Jr. distance), Anthony Sileo (Jr. sprinter), Nick Ostrowski (Sr. throws), Brendan Noone (Sr. distance), Jay Ramirez (Jr. distance) and Chris Martino (Jr. distance)

Key Newcomers:

Girls: Shoshana Weiss (Fr. throws), Peyton Gallo (Fr. field)

Boys: Steven Demboski (Sr. shot put), Ben Loeser (Sr. shot put)

Key Losses: Will Kim (sprinter), Mike Supple (sprinter), John Supple (sprinter), Danny Demilia (sprinter), Jack Misha (sprinter), Chris Alepa (distance), Sarah Martin-Moons (throws), Stefan Stanescu (long jump), Brian Digeratu (long jump) and Orlando Ocelotl (pole vault)

Strength of team: “On the girls’ side, [the strength] is in sprints and field,” Judilla said. “We have a lot of athletes who cover key spots like jumps, throws, and sprints. For the boys, it looks like [the team’s strength] is going to be distance.”

Weakness: “We’re working on becoming a more balanced team by developing more of our field events,” Judilla said.
