Monday, April 4 

Baseball vs. Old Tappan | Pascack Valley 0 – Old Tappan 11 (F/6)

Baseball took a tough loss in their league opener to Old Tappan. Old Tappan scored four runs in the first inning and didn’t look back from there as the game ended after the sixth inning due to the mercy rule.

Softball vs. Demarest | Pascack Valley 9 – Demarest 4 

Softball beat Demarest to advance to 2-0 in the young season. Giada Centinaro was credited with the win after pitching five innings and letting up just four runs, all of which came in the fifth inning. Valley looks to stay perfect on Wednesday, April 13 at Teaneck, who is 1-4 on the season. 

Track & Field vs. Old Tappan

Track & Field faced Old Tappan in their first meet of the season. Some notable performances on the boys’ side include Anthony Sileo running an 11.8 100m, Nico Mercado running a 12.0 100m, Azem Dukaj running a 24.9 200m, Connor Oates running a 2:10 800m, Jay Ramirez running a 2:11 800m, Mike Pizzella running a 4:49 1600m, Steven Demboski and Jose Garcia each throwing 40’2 for shot put, Sileo getting a 5’8 for high jump, and getting an 18’8 for long jump. The boys’ 4×400 consisted of Sileo, Oates, Ramirez, and Dukaj who combined for 3:50. On the girls’ side, Zana Dukaj ran a 13.7 100m, Julia Graham ran a 13.8 100m, Ella Ackerman ran a 29.1 200m, Erin Vollers threw a 79’6 for discus, and Jessica Ricco recorded a 16’6 long jump. The girls’ 4×400 consisted of Ackerman, Katelynn Park, Hailey Jacobson and Tori Criscuolo. They combined for a total of 4:48. Valley’s next meet will be today, April 11 vs. Bergenfield.

Boys Tennis vs. Tenafly | Pascack Valley 0 – Tenafly 5

Boys’ tennis opened their season with a 5-0 loss against Tenafly.

Golf vs. Tenafly | Pascack Valley 210 – Tenafly 164

Golf dropped their season opener to Tenafly by a score of 210-164.

Tuesday, April 5 

Boys Lacrosse vs. Wayne Valley | Pascack Valley 6 – Wayne Valley 10

Wayne Valley defeated boys’ lacrosse behind five unanswered goals by Wayne in the fourth quarter.

Golf vs. Bergenfield | Pascack Valley 199 – Bergenfield 248

Golf won their first match of the season against Bergenfield by a score of 199-248.

Golf at Northern Highlands | Pascack Valley 199 – Northern Highlands 159

Although 199 was enough to beat Bergenfield, it was enough to beat Northern Highlands who had just 159. 

Wednesday, April 6 

Girls Lacrosse vs. Holy Angels | Pascack Valley 10 – Holy Angels 7

Girls’ lacrosse defeated Holy Angels by a score of 10-7. Abigail Uhl had five goals while Sarah Urrea and Mary Looes each scored two goals. Additionally, Bella Alepa scored a goal and Looes had three assists. 

Thursday, April 7

Friday, April 8

Boys Tennis vs. Bergenfield | Pascack Valley 5 – Bergenfield 0

Boys’ tennis defeated Bergenfield for their first win of the season. Connor Shirey won in two sets, Alex Rothenberg won in three sets, Ethan Ganz won in three sets, Noah Silver and Mason Herzog won in two sets, and Brendan Kim and Jack Benson won in two sets. Their next match is on Tuesday, April 12 at Demarest.

Golf vs. Bergen Catholic | Pascack Valley 206 – Bergen Catholic 153

Golf lost 206-153 to Bergen Catholic to drop to 1-3 on the season. They look to bounce back today, April 11 against Westwood.

Saturday, April 9 

Baseball vs. DePaul | Pascack Valley 7 – DePaul 0

Baseball won for the first time this season in shutout fashion to move to 1-3. Brandon Flanagan earned the win while Matt Bell, Zach Novakowski, and Evan Biener each had home runs. This win will be in their heads for a while as their next game is not until Monday, April 18 at Tenafly.

The baseball team has started off slow, but has bounced back against a great opponent in Depaul. (Ava Kim)

Boys Lacrosse vs. Ramapo | Pascack Valley 4 – Ramapo 7

Evan Leili’s hat trick wasn’t enough to give Valley the edge over Ramapo as they fell to 1-3 on the season. Their next game is on Tuesday, April 12 vs. 3-1 Tenafly.

Girls Lacrosse vs. Glen Rock | Pascack Valley 4 – Glen Rock 14

Girls’ lacrosse took their first loss of the season to 3-1 Glen Rock. The loss also puts Valley at 3-1 and they will look to rebound on Tuesday, April 12 against Passaic Valley.
