Preston So takes the corner for Valley. They prepare to take on Summit at home at 4 p.m on Tuesday.

The Valley boys soccer team will make their first appearance in the NJSIAA Group 3 Tournament, semifinal round.

Valley(17-3-3) will play Summit(17-5) at PV high school at 4 p.m on Tuesday.

The road to success for the boys has not been easy, as they had to defeat both first-seeded Ramapo and second-seeded Roxbury. Both of these wins came in double overtime, with goals coming from Michael Caminneci in the semifinal round and Nolan Wasserman to win Valley’s first sectional title in program history.

Summit, being seeded No.2 in their section, had a comfortable road to the final, not conceding a goal until the final round. They defeated Cliffside Park in the final 2-1.

Similar to Valley, Summit is inexperienced when it comes to playoff soccer, not winning a sectional championship since 1977.

The winner of this game will play the winner of the Cherry Hill West and Hopewell Valley game. The final will be played at Kean University on Saturday Nov. 20.
