The Pascack Valley girls soccer season came to an end on Monday afternoon in the semifinals of the North 1, Group 3 Sectional Tournament, as the Indians fell to Northern Highlands 3-0.  The Highlanders shut out the Indians, while Reagan Klarmann, Claudia Mischler, and Katie Murray each found the back of the net.

The Indians finish the season an impressive 18-2-2 with their only two losses coming to the undefeated Northern Highlands squad.  Valley was ousted in the semifinals of the Bergen County Tournament on Oct. 22 by the same Northern Highlands team that ended PV’s season on Monday.

This marks the end of an era of girls soccer at Pascack Valley, as the Indians will lose many starting seniors to graduation next fall, including Elizabeth Spadafino, who led the team with 30 goals.  Seniors Danielle Freeman and Jenny LaRocca who scored seven and four goals respectively and each contributed will graduate as well. 

Defensively, starting goalie Erin Flanagan, who made 80 saves this season, will be lost to graduation, as will key defenders Kelly Smith and Nicole Franklin.

However, the Indians retain some of its nucleus, as starting midfielders Arianna Quevedo and Amanda McGlone will be back next year. Quevedo scored ten goals and contributed seven assists this season, while McGlone scored five times.
