Sophomore Alex Spadafino dribbles past a defender

Head coach: Amy Lombardo

Last year’s record: 16-4-1

Key returnees: Sydney Ben-Yishay (Jr.), Olivia Jones (Sr.), Paige Skene (Sr.), Ashley McKenna (Sr.), Isabel Van Gyzen (Sr.), Mallory Downs (Jr.)

Key losses: Amanda McGlone, Arianna Quevedo, Kyra Kennedy, Sam Ingannamorte, Carli Piretra, Julia Spadafino

Key newcomers: “We have a lot of sophomores and freshmen who are playing,” Lombardo said. “[Ela] Montopoli is going to be a big key in the middle of the field, Little [Alex] Spadafino had a good year last year as a freshman. She’s now a sophomore playing up top.”

She also mentioned Cameron Dolan, Alexa Petrellese, Tori Criscuolo and Julia Conjour as the incoming freshman as well as sophomore Emma Dedrick.

Strengths of team: “They’re a good group of girls and they’re hardworking,” Lombardo said. “I think they see their future. There’s only six seniors but they’re good leaders for the young ones.”

Areas that need improvement: “Just experience,” Lombardo said. “We have a lot of girls who have never stepped on the varsity field before so it’s going to take a couple games for them to get their feet wet and then we’ll be okay.”

Coach’s comment: “[The goal is] to get better everyday,” Lombardo said.
