Due to the impending weather conditions, Pascack Valley’s homecoming committee has made the decision to cancel their annual homecoming event.

The football game against New Canaan will still take place, but the game has been rescheduled from Saturday Oct. 27 to Thursday Oct. 25 to avoid the storm. Senior night activities for the band, cheer team, and football team will still be held and will occur before kickoff.

In past years, PV’s homecoming has consisted of lawn games, facepaint, and a barbecue in honor of PV alumni preceding the homecoming football game.

“It’s extremely unfortunate that homecoming got cancelled. The past, present, and future PV members won’t get the opportunity to come together at a big event like homecoming,” said Olivia Jones, a PV junior and member of the homecoming committee.

This is Jones’ third year on the committee. She and other members worked throughout the spring and the beginning of the 2018-2019 school year to help organize and plan for this event.

“We’ll just have to use this year’s preparations to make next year’s even better,” said Jones.
