The Pascack Valley Baseball Team practices cut-offs on Tuesday’s practice.

Head Coach: Will Lynch

Last year’s record: 14-12-1

Key Returners: Pitchers JT Deriso (So.), Andrew Wallace (Jr.), Brandon Flanagan (Sr.); outfielders Jimmy Shea (Sr.) (RF), Charlie Saul (Sr.)(CF), Evan Biener (Jr.)(LF); and infielder Michael Criscuolo (Sr.) (1B)

Key Losses: Luke Stephan, Catcher

Key Newcomers: Ryan Shea (So.) (1B, C, P)

Strength and Weakness of Team:

The strengths of the team include swinging the bat and doing so with confidence, especially for players 1-6 in the batting order.

In terms of improvement, the team strives to get better on the mound and to find consistent pitchers.

Outlook on the season:

Coach Lynch mentions that the team’s schedule is tough this year. The team will take on Ramapo, Northern Valley Old Tappan, Bergen Catholic, Don Bosco, DePaul, Northern Highlands, and other strong teams in its league.

Coach’s Comment:

“I just want everyone to play the best they can, and play hard,” Coach Lynch said. “Younger kids are being looked at such as Ryan Shea [and] other sophomores and freshmen. Shea can be a big factor if he plays up to expectation and stays healthy. Younger kids will have to step up.”
