Head coach: Amy Lombardo

Last year’s record: 18-2-2

Key returnees: Arianna Quevedo (Sr.), Amanda McGlone (Sr.), Kyra Kennedy (Sr.)

Key losses: Elizabeth Spadafino, Erin Flanagan, Jenny LaRocca, Erin Flanagan, Nicole Franklin, Kelly Smith, Rachel White, Isabella Bussanich, Danni Freeman, Lauren Hussey, Lucia Sharma

Key newcomers: Julia Spadafino (Sr.), Paige Skene (Jr.), Alex Spadafino (Fr.), Sam Ingannamorte (Sr.)

Strengths of team: The team has an experienced group of midfielders, including Quevedo and McGlone, who combined for 15 goals a year ago.

Areas that need improvement: The Indians will be tasked with replacing the 10 seniors who were all lost to graduation. Elizabeth Spadafino, who scored 30 times in 2017, is gone, so PV will need to find someone to step up and replace her as a go-to offensive player. If that doesn’t happen, PV may be a bit limited offensively. Valley also loses a number of defenders who started last year, including Nicole Franklin and Kelly Smith.

Outlook: After an 18 win season a year ago, PV will be a bit younger and less experienced this year. That said, the Indians still bring back a number of key players from a team that suffered both of its losses to the same opponent in Northern Highlands. “Our goal for this year would definitely be to be above .500. We won the league last year, so it’d be great to at least make a push to try and defend it,” said assistant coach Ken DelSanto.
