Ryan Walter is a history and psychology teacher at Pascack Valley High School. His recipe is for Cinnamon Logs, a tradition in his family.
“My grandmother made these for me every Christmas, and since she passed away, my aunt continued making them. I look forward to enjoying them every Christmas,” said Walter.
Cinnamon Logs
Ingredients:
- 1 cup butter (softened)
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon of almond extract
- 1 tablespoon of cinnamon
- 3 tablespoons of sugar
Instructions:
- Mix and chill.
- Roll mix into finger-shaped logs; cut into little logs about 1 1/2 – 2 “ long.
- Bake at 300 degrees Fahrenheit for 25 minutes, less or more time, until golden brown.
- Roll in sugar when still warm.
