The track team warms up at practice. Coach Anthony Judilla and the team look to build off of their strong distance runners.

Head Coach: Anthony Judilla

Last year’s record: Boys: 2-4 Girls: 2-4

Key Returners:

Boys: Michael Pizzella (Sr.), Anthony Sileo (Sr.), Jay Ramirez (Sr.), Connor Oates (Sr.)

Girls: Peyton Gallo (So.), Alanna Verdicchio (So.), Lola Smith (Sr.), Katelynn Park (Jr.), Ella Ackerman (Jr.)

Key Losses:

Girls: Jessica Ricco, Shannon Connolly, Isabel Forcelatti, Julianna Mullaney, Mia Puccio

Boys: Nicholas Ostrowski and Brendan Noone

Strength and Weakness of Team: “The girls are definitely well-rounded. But in track, unlike any other team sports, you need to do stellar in one or all positions… I think our jumps and our sprints will always have a chance,” Coach Judilla said. “For the boys, our strengths are our distance [events]. They have had a phenomenal Cross Country season, and they are very flexible and able to do anything from the four to the two mile.”

Outlook on the Season:

Judilla wants to extend his and the team’s season as far as it can go. Whether it is state sectionals, state groups, or even farther, Judilla wants his runners to be successful.

“It’s to train them as long as possible and to stay on the ship until it hits port,” Judilla said.

Coach’s Comment:

“In general, I just want to continue to build a program where we can get people involved in all of the events and have any athletes that are typically considered as ‘one-sport athletes’ that are taking off for resting in the spring to come out and help contribute to the team,” Judilla said. “That way we have a foundation and a structure to one day be a successful program. Whether or not we achieve that in the near or far future.”
