Valley swim leans on star Division I commit to carry them both in and out of the pool.

Coach: Courtney Rems returns for her 3rd season as head coach, and her 8th overall in the program.

Last year’s record: Girls: 3-1 | Boys 2-2

Key Returners:

Girls: Cori Freeman (Sr.), Jessica Malocha (So.)

“[Freeman] is our captain, she is a really strong swimmer,” said Rems.“We are excited to see what [Malocha] can do in a regular swim season without any COVID restrictions,” she added.

Boys: John Kim(Sr.), Zach Berde(Jr.), Juan Zapateiro(Soph.)

Key Losses (specifically last year players who graduated):

Girls: None

Boys: Tyler Marzano

“Not only his ability to kind of swim in anything and swim fast and well,”coach Courtney Rems said. “His spirit on the team is definitely missed [and] Marzano always had a positive, can-do attitude.”

Outlook on the season:

“I am hoping to see a lot of growth in our new swimmers,” Rems said. “We have a lot of freshmen and sophomores who just joined for the first time this year and we hope to see them improve in the water. In just 11 days of practice I’ve already seen some really huge improvements.”
