New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal, along with the Anti-Defamation League, will be speaking at Unity in the Valley’s first event. The event will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Pascack Valley auditorium.

Unity in the Valley is hosting its first kick-off event with presentations from the Anti-Defamation League and New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal who will be sharing his experiences with discrimination. The event will be held in the Pascack Valley auditorium from 7 p.m to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19, and will include community leaders and musical performances by PVRHSD students.

Unity in the Valley was created in 2018 and is comprised of Pascack Valley community municipal leaders, religious leaders, student groups, law enforcement, and volunteer organizations. The group is “united in their opposition to all forms of hate and aggression towards any group or individual,” according to Pascack Valley Regional High School Superintendent Erik Gundersen in an email sent to the PV community on Feb. 28.

The group is planning on having “educational events” throughout River Vale, Hillsdale, Montvale, and Woodcliff Lake, and encourages the community to attend.
