On Friday, the Pascack Valley Football Team beat Bergenfield 48-14, resulting in Valley’s fourth win of the season and improving its record to 4-1.
The first points of the game came from a three-yard rushing touchdown by RB Kevin Regula (Sr.). Valley led 6-0, as the extra point attempt was blocked.
After forcing a punt for Bergenfield, QB Adam Shaw (Jr.) threw a 60-yard touchdown pass to WR Ashton Kazinci (Sr.), increasing Valley’s lead to 13-0.
Valley’s lead was extended to 20-0 to finish the quarter, as Bergenfield QB Josh Hur (Sr.) threw an interception to Valley’s DB Kai Smith (Jr.), who returned the interception for a 20-yard touchdown.
In the second quarter, Regula scored three running touchdowns for Valley in the span of seven minutes. Valley’s lead was now 41-0 heading into halftime.
In the third quarter, Bergenfield’s RB Nasir Evans (Sr.) scored a two-yard touchdown to get the Bears on the scoreboard. Evans then ran two yards for the two point conversion, making the score 41-8.
The score remained 41-8 throughout the third quarter.
In the fourth quarter, Valley RB Luke Stempkowski (So.) had a four-yard rushing touchdown to increase the team’s lead to 48-8.
Bergenfield RB Evan Henriquez (Jr.) scored a four-yard rushing touchdown to add six more points for the Bears, making the score 48-14.
There was no more scoring in the game. Valley won the game 48-14.
Shaw completed two of his three passes for a total of 78 yards and one touchdown. Regula ran for 149 yards and had four touchdowns.
Valley’s next game will be against the Paramus Spartans this Saturday, October 5th, at 1 p.m., at Paramus High School.
