Monday, Nov. 1

Boys Soccer North 1, Group 3 vs. Garfield | Valley 3 -Garfield 2 F/OT

  • No. 12 Pascack Valley played No.5 Garfield on Monday in the first round of the North Jersey tournament. Valley came into the game as the underdog but came out on top. It was tight all throughout the game, and going into overtime it was 2-2 with a goal each coming from Connor Moon and Nicholas Bonanos. However, in the second overtime, Shane Feder, assisted by Michael Caminneci, was able to put one in the back of the net to give Valley the win double overtime.

Volleyball North 1, Group 2 vs Old Tappan Old Tappan 2 – Valley 0

  • No.6 Valley lost its final game of the season to No.3 Old Tappan in two sets in the quarterfinal round of their New Jersey State Tournament. The first set ended 25-21 and the second set ended 25-13. Sabrina Hirsch, Nicole Buckley, and Noelle Solimano led the team in kills with four each. Sabrina Arcilla led the team with 10 digs. Kaleigh Higgins led the team with eight assists. Valley ended the season with a 15-8 record.

Tuesday, Nov. 2

Girls Soccer North 1, Group 2 vs Elmwood Park | Valley 3 – Elmwood Park 1

  • No.6 Valley faced No. 11 Elmwood Park in the first round of the state tournament. Amanda Polyniak started the game off with a goal from the penalty spot and followed it up with a long-range shot that looped over the keeper into the net. Valley dominated from the beginning and the student section was present throughout the whole game. Julia Conjour scored a goal off of a penalty kick in the second half to ice the game, advancing Valley to the next round.

Thursday, Nov. 4

Boys Soccer North 1, Group 3 Quarterfinals vs. Tenafly | Valley 2 – Tenafly 0

  • Valley came into the second round of the state tournament with a rush like no other. They had just upset the No.5 seed, Garfield, in double overtime and were now playing No. 13 Tenafly, who had upset No.4 Northern Highlands in the previous round. Valley had split the two prior games this season against Tenafly. Michael Caminneci’s header, assisted by Preston So, was first goal of the game; and Shane Feder, assisted by Ian Hagen, scored an outside of the box volley which gave Valley a commanding 2-0 lead. Valley will play Ramapo in the North 1, Group 3 semifinals this coming Monday.

Friday, Nov. 5

Girls Soccer North 1, Group 2 Quarterfinals vs Jefferson | Valley 3 – Jefferson 0

  • Valley won convincingly against Jefferson on Friday morning, dominating the game from the start. A 3-0 shutout win for PV at home will lead them to the semifinals of their state tournament. Isabel Forcellati, Julia Conjour, and Isabella Russino led Valley to their win over No.14 Jefferson with one goal apiece. Isabel Forcellati made her impact on the game, making some key defensive plays and putting pressure on corners. Valley will play against No.7 Lakeland on Tuesday in the semifinal round at home.

Football North 2, Group 3 Quarterfinals vs Montville | Valley 34 – Montville 17 

  • On Friday night at home, No.4 Valley had a commanding win over No.5 Montville to advance to the semifinals of the North 2, Group 3 state tournament. Nick Savariego returned an 89-yd kickoff to start Valley’s momentum for the rest of the game. From there, everything was going in Valley’s favor. Dylan Hutchinson caught a 4-yd touchdown pass from Nick Messina in the second quarter to give PV a 17-3 lead. Conor Higgins ended the third quarter with a 34-yard touchdown reception from Ethan Silcher and Silcher threw a 21-yard touchdown pass to Hutchinson. The highlight of Valley’s offense came from Dylan Hutchinson with three receptions for 43 yards and 2 touchdowns, Nick Messina with 24 rushes for 144 yards, and Nick Savariego with 209 total yards and 1 TD. Next Friday, Valley will face No.1 Cranford away.
