1/24 Monday

Girls Swimming vs Passaic at 6 | Valley 136 – Passaic 26

Valley defeated Passaic by a huge margin as they were led by Cori Freeman, Jessica Molocha, and Juliet Cohen. 

Boys Swimming vs Passaic at 6:15 | Valley 119 – Passaic 22

The boys swimming team followed in the girls’ teams footsteps after a commanding win versus Passaic. 

1/25 Tuesday

Girls Basketball vs Dwight Morrow at 4 | Valley 64 – Dwight Morrow 27

Senior night for the girls went great after a big confidence boost for the team came Tuesday afternoon against Dwight Morrow. After an astounding 31-point performance from UMass-Boston commit Jules Vassallo, the team managed to beat the defeated Dwight Morrow by a score of 64-27. 


Boys Basketball vs Dwight Morrow at 7 | Valley 85 – Dwight Morrow 65

The boys basketball team were able to soundly defeat Dwight Morrow to increase their record to 6-4. 85 points is their most points since February 26, 2016, nearly 6 years ago!!

1/26 Wednesday 

Wrestling vs West Milford at 6 | Valley 47 – West Milford 31

The Panthers edged out a win against West Milford as Nick Savariego turned the tides after a miraculous pin in the third period. This was later followed up by back to back to back pins by Ray Kohan, Drew Petaccia, and Julian Morris securing Valley’s win. 


Boys Bowling vs Old Tappan at 4 | Valley 0 – Old Tappan 7

The boys bowling team took a hard defeat to an undefeated Old Tappan team. 

Girls Bowling vs Old Tappan at 4 | Valley 5 – Old Tappan 2

The girls bowling team had a commanding win against their rivals Old Tappan. 

1/27 Thursday

Girls Swimming vs Hackensack at 4:15 | Valley 97 – Hackensack 72

Jessica Malocha leads the girls over Hackensack as she came in first place for both of the 2 solo events and e2 relay races. 

Boys Swimming vs Hackensack at 4:15 | Valley 60 – Hackensack 110

A tough loss for the boys swimming team as they came in first place for 1 out of the 12 events.  

Boys Basketball vs Wayne Hills at 7 | Valley 65 – Wayne Hills 74

Coming off of the big win against Dwight Morrow, Valley faced a very tough test against a good Wayne Hills team. Unfortunately, they came up short, decreasing the Panthers’ record to 7-5 and increasing Wayne Hills’ record to 9-5. 

Girls Basketball vs Ridgewood at 7 | Valley 31 – Ridgewood 37

For the first matchup of the season in the Bergen County Tournament, pool play, Valley fell short to Ridgewood. Leading scorer for Valley was Celina Bussanich with 8 points and for Ridgewood Isabella Winn with 11 points.

1/28 Friday

Girls Swimming vs Clifton at 2:30 | Valley 111 – Clifton 59

The girls took care of Clifton to increase their record to 4-5. 

Boys Swimming vs Clifton at 3 | Valley 96 – Clifton 71

The boys edged out Clifton as Zachary Berde and John Kim won multiple first-place finishes. 

Wrestling vs Hills at 7 | Valley 38 – Hills 31

On Friday night, one of Valley’s biggest rivals came to Valley in a highly anticipated wrestling match. Tons of support flowed into the gymnasium coming from both Valley and Hills. Valley and its supporters were able to take out Hills after several matches came down to the last seconds of the third period. Ray Kohan, Noah Martin, and Drew Petaccia were huge in the final stretches of the match as 2 of these 3 got pins for the panthers.

Girls Basketball vs Immaculate Heart Academy at 7 | Valley 32 – IHA 42

The girls basketball team faced off in a tough matchup against Immaculate Heart Academy but fell short, losing by a score of 42-32. Immaculate Heart Academy, ranked No. 19 in the state by nj.com, defeated Valley in the Pool Play of the Bergen County Tournament.

Boys Basketball vs St. Mary (Rutherford) at 7 | Valley 68 – St. Mary 57

St. Mary came into the Bergen County Jamboree game with only 3 losses. At the end of the game, the 23rd-seeded Valley had added a loss to St. Mary’s record. Jimmy Shea’s 19 points and Conor Higgins’ 14 points allowed Valley to secure the win against 10-seeded St. Mary. Valley will play 7-seeded Dwight-Englewood next Saturday away, at Dwight-Englewood.
