Boys Basketball vs Teaneck | 66-61 LOSS
Boys basketball’s eight-game win streak came to an end with a loss against the Teaneck Highwaymen by a score of 66-61. Jimmy Shea led scoring for Valley with 20 points; he also had seven assists and six rebounds. Christian Vargas had 18 points, and Trevor Kirkby had 11 points.

Girls Basketball @ Teaneck | 56-49 LOSS
The girls’ seven-game win streak came to an end with a 56-49 loss to Teaneck. Celina Bussanich continued to convert threes for Valley, finishing with 17 points—five of which were three-pointers. Lindsay Jennings had 10 points, and Tori Criscuolo had nine points. Ava Burke added eight points as well.

Girls Basketball vs Tenafly | 53-52 WIN
The girls basketball team defeated Tenafly 53-52 on Thursday, splitting their two in-league games against the Tigers this season after having lost the first. Celina Bussanich led the way for Valley with 22 points: 18 of those 22 points coming from threes. Lindsay Jennings had 15 points, with nine of the 15 points coming from threes. Tori Criscuolo added eight points as well.

Boys Basketball @ Tenafly | 37-36 WIN
In a low-scoring competition, the boys basketball team held off the Tenafly Tigers, 37-36. Christian Vargas had 15 points, and Jimmy Shea had 12 points. Michael Criscuolo finished with six points, and his defense helped Valley hold Tenafly to only 36 points.

Boys Bowling @ Demarest | 7-0 WIN
Pascack Valley Boys Bowling took down Demarest 7-0 on Friday. The team advanced to a record of 3-1, bouncing back after its loss against Old Tappan.

Girls Bowling @ Demarest | 7-0 WIN
Pascack Valley Girls Bowling fell to Demarest 7-0. Its record is now 2-2.

Wrestling @ Pascack Hills | 44-25 WIN
In one of the area’s most historic rivalries, the Pascack Valley Wrestling Team defeated the Pascack Hills Wrestling Team, 44-25. After being down 12-0, Valley rallied to a 34-12 lead, coming from seven consecutive wins—three of which were pins from Nate Lewis, Adan Cedeno, and Georgie Hamilton. Hills rallied back, notching three wins in the following three bouts—one of which was a pin from Hills’s Jake Wacha. In the next bout, a major decision win by Ray Kohan sealed the match, as defeated Hunter Morton 15-5. With this team win, Valley extends its win streak against Hills to eight consecutive victories in the past nine years. Valley takes on NVOT in the Quarterfinal Round of the North Jersey, Section 1, Group 3 NJSIAA Team Tournament on Monday, Feb. 6.

Girls Basketball vs Mahwah | 41-18 WIN
The Pascack Valley Girls Basketball Team defeated the Mahwah Thunderbirds in a 41-18 win, advancing Valley to the semi-finals of the Bergen County Tournament. This is the team’s first appearance back in the semifinals since finishing in second place in 2018. In the balanced scoring attack, Celina Bussanich led with 13 points, Madison McCarthy had eight points, and Lindsay Jennings and Ava Burke both had seven points each. Valley’s next game in the Bergen County Tournament will take place Saturday, against No. 2 seeded IHA and the team’s next league game is on Tuesday, at home against Northern Valley Demarest.

Boys Basketball @ Don Bosco | 86-37 LOSS
The Pascack Valley Boys Basketball team’s run in the Jamboree came to an end on Saturday, with a 86-37 loss to the Don Bosco Ironmen. Christian Vargas led Valley in scoring with 13 points. Daniel Ax had nine points, with all of his points coming from threes. Valley will take on Northern Valley Demarest on Tuesday, at Demarest.
