2/13 Monday

Boys Basketball @ Pascack Hills / WIN 66-51

The Pascack Valley Boys Basketball Team won its game against Pascack Hills, 66-51. With a lead of 16-9 at the end of the first quarter, Valley never looked back. Christian Vargas led PV with 19 points—going 9 for 10 from the free throw line—and 6 assists. Jimmy Shea had a double double, with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Conor Higgins had 10 points, and Trevor Kirkby had 7 points and 4 assists.

2/14 Tuesday

Girls Basketball vs Chester Academy / WIN 63-35

Pascack Valley won against Chester Academy, 63-35, giving Coach Jasper his 1100th career win, in his 50th season. In a balanced scoring attack, Celina Bussanich had 17 points, and Lindsay Jennings had 15 points. Bussanich and Jennings hit 3 threes each. Madison McCarthy had 12 points, and Ava Burke had 7 points. 

2/15 Wednesday

Boys Basketball vs Paramus Catholic / LOSS 77-69

The Boys Basketball Team lost to Paramus Catholic, 77-69. Christian Vargas led the way for Valley with 28 points; 15 of the points came from three-pointers. Eli Karalewich had 12 points, Conor Higgins had 11 points, and Jimmy Shea had 8 points. Michael Criscuolo had 8 points and 9 rebounds—seven of which were offensive rebounds. 

2/16 Thursday

Girls Basketball vs Fort Lee / Win 50-47

Pascack Valley Girls Basketball won a close game against Fort Lee, 50-47. Celina Bussanich had 20 points, fifteen of which came from her 5 three-pointers. Tori Criscuolo had 10 points, Lindsay Jennings had 9 points, Ava Burke had 7 points, and Madison McCarthy had 4 points.

2/17 Friday

Boys Basketball vs St. Mary’s / WIN 58-56

Valley’s boys basketball came from behind to defeat St. Mary’s in a close game, 58-56. Vargas finished the night with 20 points, hitting the game winning three-pointer with 30 seconds left. Jimmy Shea finished with 13 points, and Michael Criscuolo, Conor Higgins, and Trevor Kirkby all finished with 7 points each. Valley now enters the North Jersey, Section 1, Group 3, NJSIAA Tournament as the No. 4 seed, taking on the No. 13 seed Paramus on February 20th.

Ice Hockey vs River Dell / WIN 4-0

No. 7 seed Pascack defeated No. 26 seed River Dell, 4-0, in the preliminary round of the Public C NJSIAA Tournament. Leading 1-0 in the second period after Pascack’s Owen Dargan’s short-handed goal, Pascack went on to score three goals in the final period: Austin Groves had two consecutive goals, and Jack Sheehan added the fourth. Aidan Rybacki racked up 20 saves as well. Pascack advances to the first round of the Public C NJSIAA Tournament, taking on the No. 10 seed Manasquan on February 22nd. 

2/18 Saturday

Girls Basketball vs Morris Hills / WIN 68-36

In its regular season finale, Pascack Valley Girls Basketball defeated Morris Hills, 68-36. Lindsay Jennings finished with 26 points—six three-pointers included. Celina Bussanich had 22 points, hitting 4 three-pointers. Madison McCarthy had 9 points, Tori Criscuolo had 4 points, Ava Burke had 4 points, and Ada Kesselman had 3 points. Valley now enters the North Jersey, Section 1, Group 3, NJSIAA Tournament as the No. 8 seed. The team takes on the No. 9 Tenafly at home on February 20th.
