Boys Basketball vs. Teaneck | Loss, 79-60
PV felt short to a strong Teaneck team, who currently has a record of 17-3. Valley couldn’t string together a win despite scoring more points than their average this season.
Girls Basketball at Teaneck | Loss, 59-57
In a matchup between two teams playing well this season, PV took a narrow loss in overtime to Teaneck. Raina Gibbs (Jr.) put up 22 points in the loss.
Wednesday, February 4
Boys Bowling at Mahwah | Win, 5-2
In their last match of the regular season, boys bowling defeated Mahwah to finish their season 13-1. The team will head to the state tournament which begins today, Feb. 10.
Girls Bowling at Mahwah | Loss, 7-0
The Girls Bowling Team was unable to come up with a win in the last game of the season. The team went 0-13 this year.
Wrestling at West Essex | Loss, 36-32
Wrestling took a rare loss on Wednesday against Essex in a close matchup. The team picked up two quick pins under one minute: Jacob Inserra (So.) at 29 seconds and Luke Stempkowski (Jr.) at 47 seconds.
Thursday, February 5
Boys Basketball at Tenafly | Loss, 65-37
Valley could not compete with undefeated Tenafly, who leads the Big North National division with a record of 19-0.
Girls Basketball vs. Tenafly | Win, 41-25
Girls basketball picked up a bounce back win over Tenafly thanks to a double-double and 22-point performance from Keira O’Cathain (So.). With the win, PV moves to 13-8 this season with six games remaining.
Girls Swimming vs. Livingston | Win, 89-81
After having a bye in the first round, Valley competed against Livingston in the quarterfinal round of the NJSIAA North 1, Group A tournament. Valley would then move on to compete against No. 1 Passaic Tech in the semifinals on Monday.
Friday, February 6
Hockey at Ramapo | Loss, 1-0
The Pascack Hockey Team could not score in a shutout loss to Ramapo on Friday. Still, goalie Tyler Rothschild (So.) put up 28 saves on 29 shots. With the loss, the Pascack Hockey Team was eliminated from the Big North Gold Cup in the quarterfinals.
Saturday, February 7
Boys Basketball vs. Ridgefield Park | Loss, 51-34
The Boys Basketball Team has now lost three straight games and have been eliminated from the Bergen County Invitational tournament after a loss to Ridgefield Park. PV moves to 11-12 this season and will play four more games this season.
Wrestling vs. Rahway | Win, 45-34
In the first of three matchups of the day, PV defeated Rahway. Trevor Grageda (Sr.) won his match with a pin in 32 seconds.
Wrestling vs. Franklin | Win, 76-3
Wrestling won their second matchup of the day in dominant fashion with a score of 76-3. Valley won 14 of 15 matches, including a pin by Alex Bainbridge (Sr.) in just 20 seconds.
Wrestling vs. Woodridge | Win, 48-27
With a win against Woodridge, Valley won all three matchups on Saturday. Trevor Grageda (Sr.) and Jacob Inserra (So.) had quick pins, with 13 and 15 seconds respectively.
