Julia Conjour tries to get around the Park Ridge defender in their game on Saturday. They defeated Park Ridge 4-1 over the weekend.

Thursday 9/8
Girls Soccer @ River Dell (LOSS) 1-0
PV Girls Soccer took a tough 1-0 loss to River Dell in its season opener. PV played a great defensive game, not allowing a goal all of regular time. They stayed strong all throughout the first overtime but let up a goal to give River Dell the 1-0 win in double overtime.

Girls Volleyball vs Dwight Morrow (WIN) 2-0
PV Volleyball started its season off strong with a 2-0 win over Dwight-Morrow. PV won the first set 25-15 and dominated the second set, winning 25-12.

Girls Tennis @ Demarest (LOSS) 5-0
The Girls Tennis Team was unable to win any of its matches on Thursday and started the season off with a 5-0 loss to Demarest.

Boys Soccer vs River Dell (WIN) 6-1
PV’s Boys Soccer Team started its season with a huge win against River Dell. The first half of the game started slowly with one goal from Shane Feder. Once the second half came around, PV took charge and never turned back. Two goals were scored by Ethan Schwartz and one apiece by Robert Wasserman, Cesar Velecela, and Carlos Cruz Hernandez.

Friday 9/9
Girls Tennis @ Tenafly (LOSS) 5-0
The Girls Tennis Team took another loss to Tenafly as it lost 5-0.

Football @ Paramus (LOSS) 21-20
On Friday night, PV lost a tough game in double overtime to an 0-1 Paramus team. The first half started off super slow, going into halftime with a score of 0-0. Once the second half rolled around, the pace of the game completely changed. Jake Crawbuck scored the first touchdown of the game on an eleven yard run. Evan Starr made the extra point to give PV the 7-0 lead. However, later in the quarter, Paramus scored on a five yard run and made the field goal to tie the game up at 7. The stalemate continued in Paramus, forcing overtime. Paramus started with the ball in the first overtime and proceeded to score on a thirteen yard run, converting on the extra point to give the Spartans a 14-7 lead. With the pressure on, Kevin Regula scored on a one yard touchdown run, and Evan Starr converted the extra point to tie the game back up at 14 each. PV started the second overtime with the ball. Once again, Kevin Regula scored to give PV the lead. Paramus came out of the line of scrimmage hard and was able to block Evan Starr’s extra point kick, which opened the door for the Spartans to take the lead. They marched down and converted on a 4th and 9 touchdown to tie the game at 20. The extra point was good, and they ran off celebrating. This loss drops PV to 0-2. They will face NVOT at home, at 6 p.m., next Friday.

Saturday 9/10
Girls Soccer vs Park Ridge (WIN) 4-1
The PV Girls Soccer Team had a dominant win over Park Ridge in their second game of the season. PV went down 1-0 in the first half, but, after an equalizer from Vanessa Rack, the team didn’t look back. PV went on to score three more goals, with Tara Stewart, Amanda Polyniak, and Julia Conjour each putting one in the back of the net. Julia Conjour ended the game with one goal and two assists; two more assists came from Ciara Dersimonian in the second half.
