Junior Antonio Cedeno makes a move on his opponent. After his successful sophomore season, he and other returning wrestlers look to have another successful season this year.

Head Coaches: Gary Beyer and Steven Schneider

Last year’s record: 13-5 (4-1 in the Big North)

Key Returners: Ray Kohan (Sr.), Nate Lewis (Sr.), Ryan Carlson (Sr.), Luis Romero (Sr.), Antonio Cedeno (Jr.)

Key Losses: Noah Martin (Roger Williams University), Drew Petaccia, Nick Savariego (Plymouth State University), Justin Amato, Joey Lamparillo

Strength: “We have a lot of depth. We have over 30 kids on our roster right now,” Coach Steven Schneider said. “We have six total coaches, and three of them [are] volunteer assistant coaches. So, that’s a strength of ours.”

Weakness: “We have a lot of guys at the same weight,” Schneider said. “We would like guys to spread out. In wrestling, you have to lose weight, but we need guys to kind of gain weight and fill some of those heavier classes.”

Outlook on the Season: “Our goal is to try to win the league every year,” Schneider said. “The goal for me is I’d like to see our guys get better every day and improve from the beginning of the season to the end of the season. We want to see individual guys make it to the state tournament in Atlantic City, and we would like to put someone on the podium.”

Coach’s Comment: “We have a good amount of experience coming back. We have some young guys who just saw the lineup for the first time last year, who are looking to fill a bigger role on the team this year,” Schneider said.
