Strength of the team: Beyer says the team worked hard in the offseason and is expecting a good group to return this season. “A good number of the guys had success last year,” Beyer said. “The other thing I’ll say is this: the guys know we work hard and they are not afraid of that hard work. We will be well-conditioned.”
Weakness of the team: “We’re going to have some new guys filtering into spots, so we’re going to need those guys to elevate early on,” Beyer said. “There are going to be a couple of weight classes where we’re going to be low on guys and experience. We also have to stay healthy… as long as we stay healthy, we’ll be tough to beat.”
Outlook on the season: “We always love our Hills match [and] we always look forward to Old Tappan and Riverdell,” Beyer said. “We believe we’re going to win the league championship, we believe we’re going to win the district championship, and we do believe we’re going to win the State Sectional Championship.”
Coach’s Comment: “I look forward to watching Adan [Cedeno] and Dylan [Beigel] leading the charge, Luke Stempkowski following, and Jay Fouche and Alex [Bainbridge] as well,” Beyer said.
“I expect our top to be very strong,” Beyer added. “It’s not always the case where you have the strongest weights at the top. Often, it’s hard to be really strong at the top, but we are. We have talented guys in the middle of the pack.”
“We’ve got a lot of guys who are talented and looking to make some noise this year.”
“I also want to add that we have a Girls’ Team [that] had some success last year,” Beyer said. “[We] look to build off of that and continue to compete.”
