When Tara Rosenberg left to go to George Washington University in 2010, she left a gap in Pascack Regional’s gymnastics team.

Now, after studying Exercise Science and Physical Therapy to get her Bachelor’s Degree, she’s back… but this time, she’s coaching.

Rosenberg has been loving every second of coaching and being back at her high school, saying of her new position on the team.

“For over 15 years, I have always been on the other side as a gymnast and it is definitely a different experience as a coach,” Rosenberg said. “It’s great to still be a part of the sport I love in any way I can.”

Of course, gymnastics isn’t the only thing Rosenberg is focusing on right now. In addition to coaching the team, she is working at a nearby gym, applying to physical therapy schools, and taking some classes locally. She also has a passion for running and ran her first half-marathon in April.

Rosenberg is glad to be back and thankful for the opportunity to coach. So far, coaching has been a rewarding experience for her.

“I had such an amazing experience on the gymnastics team from 2006-2010 with nothing but great memories and my main priority is to provide that same experience for the girls on the team this year,” said Rosenberg, who was a member of Pascack Regional’s two state championship teams in 2008 and 2009.

Starting gymnastics as a toddler, Rosenberg participated in the sport until college. She started competing at age seven and joined the team when she reached high school. Looking back, Rosenberg fondly remembers her time on the team. She made so many friends and bonded with everyone on the team, especially on the bus on the way to long away meets.

Furthermore, Rosenberg went undefeated in her last two seasons.

“I couldn’t have ended my high school gymnastics career a better way,” she said.

“Never did I think that this sport would become a life changing passion that would stay with me even until college,” she added.

This year, the team has undergone many changes, including a smaller team and two new coaches. Along with assistant coach Mrs. Alison Petaccia. Rosenberg is looking forward to the rest of the season. It is already going well, with top gymnasts LeAnne Drum, Olivia Lein, and Hannah Shell leading the team all around, as well as captain Alex Borelli killing it on the balance beam.
