Senior Matt Truglio celebrating after scoring one of his three goals in PV’s first outdoor game earlier this season. The second outdoor game, will be Truglio’s last with the Indians.

Pascack Valley will be playing hockey under the lights again.

In their second game of the season at Provident Bank Park, the team will face off against Passaic Valley, which was originally scheduled for January 23rd.

The outdoor game will mark the last of PV’s season and the last in the careers of the seniors on the team. The game will take place on Friday, February 19th at 8 p.m.

In their first outdoor game, which was the first such experience for many of the players, PV was victorious against Montville 5-3. Senior Matt Truglio contributed three goals, and teammates Aidan Tuffy and Luke Ciocca scored one apiece.

After the first outdoor game, the response from the players was pure elation and passion. Those same feelings are still present heading into the second game.

“The first game was almost unreal and to get this opportunity again is amazing,” said senior Evan Brignola, who’ll be appearing in his last game for the Indians. “The thought of it being my last game for this team is depressing, but I’ll be playing with some of my best friends. It’s bittersweet.”

Other seniors, including Truglio, who recently notched his 100th career point, and Avery Zaretsky, shared a similar sentiment to Brignola.

“This is a great way to end my career with PV,” said Zaretsky. “We are going to go out there and do what we do every game – try and win.”

Truglio viewed playing in these types of games to be a privilege.

“I’m fortunate enough to be playing in two outdoor games, and I’m just going to take in the memories of playing outside and with this team,” he said.

Despite an inconsistent season for the Indians, who often struggled to score but did play solid defense, games like these stick out more than the losses and will stick out in the memories of all for a long time.
