Girls Swimming at Passaic Tech | Loss, 108-55
Pascack Valley took a loss to No. 1 Passaic Tech in the semifinal round of the NJSIAA states tournament. Passaic Tech would go on to win the tournament over No. 2 Morristown in the next round. The PV Girls Swimming Team will end its season 7-3, a big improvement over last season.
Tuesday, February 10
Boys Basketball at Bergenfield | Win, 61-60
In their closest match of the season, boys basketball defeated Bergenfield by just a point on Tuesday. Dante DaCosta (Sr.) led the team with 14 points, while Liam Higgins (Sr.), Jason Rilli (Fr.), and Gavin Krause (Fr.) also put up double-digit scoring.
Girls Basketball vs. Bergenfield | Win, 56-41
Motivated by Coach Jeff Jasper’s retirement announcement, the Girls Basketball Team put up a big win over Bergenfield. Raina Gibbs (Sr.) led the scoring with 21 points, along with Emma Costello (Sr.), who had 15.
Hockey at West Milford | Win, 7-0
Pascack Ice Hockey blew out West Milford by seven, with Goalie Tyler Rothschild (So.) recording a shutout. Jack Sheehan (Sr.) led the scoring with 2 goals and 2 assists. The team moves to 12-6 this season with one more game on Tuesday against Tenafly.
Wednesday, February 11
Wrestling at Ocean Township | Win, 42-29
Wrestling traveled down south to Ocean County to take on Ocean Township. The victory gave the team a 17-4 record, earning the second seed in states, where they will take on No. 7 Dumont on Monday at 5:00 p.m.
Thursday, February 12
Boys Basketball vs. Demarest | Loss, 62-46
Boys basketball could not pick up a win against a good Demarest team. Valley will move to 12-13 with two games left this season: Old Tappan on Tuesday and Pascack Hills on Thursday.
Girls Basketball at Demarest | Loss, 45-29
Girls basketball moved to 14-9 after a loss to Demarest, who have now won 17 straight games this season after losing two of their first four.
Boys Bowling vs. Glen Rock | Win, 2-0
The Boys Bowling Team entered the state tournament as the No. 1 seed and defeated Glen Rock in the quarterfinals. Evan Przebieglec (Jr.) averaged a 248 between his two games, leading the team to victory. The team will take on No. 4 Old Tappan in the semifinals on Wednesday.
Friday, February 13
Wrestling vs. Pascack Hills | Win, 61-18
PV Wrestling defeated Hills in dominant fashion, losing just three duals. PV extends their Valley-Hills wrestling winning streak to 10 straight years.
Saturday, February 14
Girls Basketball vs. Mountain Lakes | Loss, 32-26
Girls basketball took a loss in a cross-divisional matchup against Mountain Lakes. PV has now lost two straight games and moves to 14-10 heading into their final three matches of the season next week.
