PV Boys Basketball lines up for the national anthem

Friday, December 26th

Girls Basketball vs. Cresskill @ Joe Poli Classic | Win 36-28

Emma Costello (Jr.) had 13 points, and Sophia Dalton (Sr.) added 7 points in the girls’ win against Cresskill. It was a tough, defensive game, as the girls held Cresskill to only 28 points.

Saturday, December 27th

Boys Basketball vs. Ramsey @ Ridgewood Christmas Classic| Loss 54-43

PV Boys Basketball fell to 2-2 after its loss to Ramsey at the Ridgewood Christmas Classic.

Pascack Hockey @ Morristown | Loss 1-4

Jack Sheehan (Sr.) had the only goal for Pascack in the loss last Saturday night. Tyler Rothschild (So.) recorded 46 saves on the day.

Sunday, December 28th

Girls Basketball vs. Secaucus @ Joe Poli Classic | Win 55-31

Emma Costello (Jr.) had a game-high 19 points, while Raina Gibbs (Jr.) added 14 points, and Keira O’Cathain had 11 points for the Panthers.

Monday, December 29th

Boys Basketball vs. Glen Rock | Loss 56-40

Boys Basketball lost its second straight game. Liam Higgins (Sr.) scored 15 points in the loss.

Tuesday, December 30th

Boys Basketball vs. Ridgewood | Loss 51-29

Pascack Valley fell to a very talented Ridgewood team despite putting up a solid team effort.

Girls Basketball vs. Old Tappan @ Joe Poli Classic | Loss 44-34

In the Joe Poli Classic Championship final, the girls basketball team fell to Old Tappan despite an 11-point game from Raina Gibbs (Jr.).

Saturday, January 3rd

Wrestling vs. Mahwah| Win 68-12

Pascack Valley Wrestling stays undefeated and moves to 6-0 on the season. In the win, Caleb Pacor (So.) had a pin in 37 seconds, and, as a team, Valley had 8 pins.

Wrestling vs. Ramapo | Win 45-26

Wrestling won its second match of the day in a close match. Jayson Fouche (Sr.) had his seventh straight win with a pin in 20 seconds.

Girls Basketball vs. Dumont | Win 56-24

Girls Basketball had a blowout win against Dumont. Keira O’Cathain (So.) recorded a double-double in the win with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Boys Basketball vs. Elmwood Park | Win 67-52

Boys Basketball gets its third win of the season. With this win, Pascack Valley snaps its three-game losing streak.

Sunday, January 4th

Pascack Hockey vs. Northern Highlands | Win 1-0

Jack Sheehan (Sr.) had the only goal of the game in the win against the Highlanders. Tyler Rothschild (So.) had 42 saves in the shutout performance.

As a junior, Nathan Faber has been a member of The Valley Echo for two years and is now a Sports Editor. He has always enjoyed writing for the paper, and enjoys reading articles on football, basketball, and baseball. He has been on the Varsity Tennis Team since his freshman year. Ben Perlman, Lead Sports Editor

Ben Perlman is a senior who joined The Valley Echo during his freshman year and is now a Lead Sports Editor for the paper. Ben is active in many other clubs and activities. He is on the Varsity Soccer Team, a Peer Leader, and an ambassador for the Zack Latteri Foundation. Ben enjoys writing articles for multiple sports through previews, week-in reviews, and athlete of the month features. He hopes to continue to write more stories for The Echo, exploring more about PV life and sports.
