Wrestling vs. Dumont | Win, 51-25

The PV Wrestling Team defeated Dumont in the quarterfinal round of the Section 1, Group 2 team tournament.

Wrestling vs. Lakeland | Win, 51-24

In their second match of the day, PV Wrestling defeated Lakeland in the semifinal round to advance to the finals of the tournament.

Tuesday, February 17

Girls Basketball vs. Old Tappan | Loss, 54-36

The Pascack Valley Girls Basketball Team was defeated at home on Tuesday to extend its losing streak three games. Raina Gibbs (Jr.) led the team with 11 points.

Boys Basketball at Old Tappan | Loss, 78-48

The Boys Basketball Team fell short by a large margin to Old Tappan on Tuesday.

Ice Hockey vs Tenafly | Loss, 5-4

The Pascack Ice Hockey Team was defeated in overtime against Tenafly on Tuesday. Jack Sheehan (Sr.) had 2 goals in the loss.

Wednesday, February 18

Boys Bowling vs. Old Tappan | Win, 2-0

In the semifinal round of the Section 1, Group 2 Tournament, the Boys Bowling Team swept Old Tappan 2-0.

Wrestling at Highpoint | Win, 38-21

PV Wrestling defeated High Point in the Section 1, Group 2 finals 38-21. Gavin Stempkowski (So.) had a last-second takedown to secure the win in his match, and help secure the big result for Valley.

Thursday, February 19

Girls Basketball vs. Pascack Hills | Win, 59-43

In coach Jasper’s final regular season game, the Girls Basketball Team won 59-43 against rivals Pascack Hills. Keira O’Cathain (So.) led the team with 16 points.

Boys Basketball vs. Pascack Hills | Win, 70-45

The Boys Basketball Team defeated its rival, Pascack Hills, at home on Thursday. Evan Gallucci (Jr.) led the team with 24 points.

Friday, February 20

Wrestling @ Rumson-Fair Haven | Loss, 41-30

The Pascack Valley Wrestling Team was defeated by Rumson-Fair Haven on Friday in the Group 2 semifinal round.

Saturday, February 21

Girls Wrestling at Lenape Valley | Loss, 18-6

Looking to improve on its record, the Girls Wrestling Team fell short to Lenape Valley, dropping the team to 2-1 on the year.

Boys Bowling vs. Demarest | Loss, 2-1

The Boys Bowling Team lost to Demarest on Saturday. This is only the team’s second loss this year.

Joseph Saco is a junior at Pascack Valley who is in his second year as part of The Valley Echo. This year, he is a Sports Editor. He’s always looking for interesting sports stories to write about. He enjoyed writing for the paper last year. He is part of the Pascack Hockey Team, and in his free time, he plays the guitar, watches movies, and hangs out with friends.
